Donegal manager Jim McGuinness has appealed the eight week suspension and a hearing could be heard as early as Thursday evening.
The Donegal boss was hit with the sanction for fielding 17 year old Finbarr Roarty who wasn’t the correct age to play senior inter county football.
Roarty who can’t play this year for the county was also given a two week ban while Donegal lost the points in the McKenna Cup victory over Armagh.
If the appeal fails, McGuinness can take it to Croke Park’s Central Appeals Committee and the Disputes Resolution Authority.
As things stand, the Donegal boss would miss the first five league games.
