First hearing into Omagh bombing public enquiry today

The first hearing will be held later in the public inquiry into the Omagh bombing.

29 people – including a woman pregnant with twins – were killed when a Real IRA bomb ripped through the town centre in 1998.

The inquiry will examine whether steps could’ve been taken to prevent the attack – which was the biggest single atrocity of the Troubles.
