Israel embassy to close in Dublin

Israel is closing its embassy here.

It marks a significant setback in bilateral relations between the two countries.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says the closure of the embassy in Dublin, is in response to what he claims is the Irish government’s “extreme anti-Israel policies.”

Ambassador Dana Erlich – who was recalled to Israel last May – issued a statement earlier this year claiming she was concerned for the future of the Jewish and Israeli communities in Ireland.

The Department of Foreign Affairs here says it’s aware of today’s announcement.
