The Mayor of Letterkenny has said if the government reintroduces the Jobs Initiative again next year, a concerted effort must be made to include the Bonagee Link Road.
The initiative was first introduced this year to create construction jobs by fast tracking infrastructure projects which could then stimulate development.
There was criticism in Donegal when the only project to be included was the new courthouse in Letterkenny.
In a response to questions from Cllr Dessie Larkin, the council said more work needs to be done on design and possible Compulsory Purchase Orders, but the project could go to construction in two years. However, the council says it remains suspended.
Now, Cllr Larkin says what’s needed is a firm commitment from Dublin…………
