Suspected case of bird flu identified in Omagh

A suspected case of bird flu has been identified at a commercial premises in Omagh.

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs says disease control measures have been brought into effect following the case of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

As a result, it’s understood hundreds of birds will be culled.

Those with poultry and kept birds are being asked to implement the highest standards of biosecurity “to protect their flocks from avian influenza”.
