Donegal schools win big at Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition

Rosses Community School and Loreto Secondary School Letterkenny were the winning schools from Donegal at the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.

Adam Krska, Owen McGee & Ryan Boyle from Rosses Community School won The Road Safety Authority Award (Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Sciences) for their project testing Irish Seaweed as a Low-Cost, Eco-Friendly Absorbent for Road Oil Spills.

Arya Satheesh from Loreto Secondary School, Letterkenny received the 2nd Senior Individual Award (Biological & Ecological) for the project Eco Purge: Biodegradable Plastic with Enzyme-Driven Microplastic Degradation.

Tomas Downey from Rosses Community School collected the 3rd Junior Individual Award (Biological & Ecological for the project Jellyfish Barriers for Bathing Areas.
