Two cars have been seized as the Gardaí Roads Policing Operation for the Donegal Rally gets under way.
The Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit, alongside the RSA, was conducting checkpoints and seized a vehicle as it had no anti-roll bar and the exhaust was believed to be faulty.
A second vehicle was seized as it had worn brake pads.
Gardaí continue to urge motorists not to take any type of risks where road safety is concerned.
