New air ambulance service promises faster emergency cover for Donegal region

A new air ambulance service is to be based in Sligo, with the aircraft seen training in Killybegs ahead of its launch on July 1st.

Senator Manus Boyle had campaigned for the service to be located at Finner Camp in Donegal.

However, he says the Sligo base will still improve coverage along the western seaboard and response times for patients.

He has been told the maximum wait time for the air ambulance in Donegal will be around half an hour:
