A record number of potential buyers have been approved for the First Home Scheme in the first half of this year, the highest figure since the scheme began in 2022.
Under the scheme, the State takes a stake of up to 30% in a new home in return for funding.
New figures show over 11 ,000 buyers have been approved since 2022, and almost 6,000 home purchases have been supported.
