A teenager has drowned at Ballinamore in County Leitrim during the town’s Family Festival.
Gardaí say the young man, in his late teens, was taken from the water at Kiltymoodan in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Festival organisers cancelled last night’s fireworks display as a mark of respect, saying they were deeply saddened by the tragedy.
