Around one in five doctors in Ireland work more than 48 hours a week on average.
That’s according to new research published by the Irish Medical Council, which revealed administrative tasks and work unrelated to clinical duties are among the key pressures faced by doctors every week.
GPs reported the most weekly barriers to providing patient care compared to any other group of doctors.
