It’s emerged co-driver Aaron Johnston will miss next weekend’s Rally Chile in the WRC.
The Omagh native, who is usually on the notes for Takamoto Katsuta, has been ruled out due to a collarbone injury picked up during last Sunday’s Rally del Paraguay.
Johnston will be replaced by Cavan co-pilot James Fulton for Rally Chile.
Aaron released the following statement on social media this morning:
“Good Morning everyone,
As you are aware, Taka and I had an accident during Sunday at Rally del Paraguay.
Unfortunately, I have suffered a fractured collarbone and as a result I need a bit more time to recover so I will be unable to sit alongside Taka-San in Chile.
Fortunately, my good friend & fellow Irishman, James Fulton will step into the hot seat, and I, of course, will be on hand to give him all the help and assistance they need to enjoy a safe & successful rally.
Looking forward to getting back out again very soon and in the meantime I’d like to thank everyone for their messages of support and well wishes since last Sunday.
