An independent review has been commissioned by the North’s Justice Minister Naomi Long following the temporary release of Gary Anderson which has led to him absconding.
Anderson was given a sentence of life in prison alongside his brother in 2023 for the murder of Karol Kelly in Derry in 2018.
Last Monday, Anderson was granted a two-hour compassionate temporary release from Maghaberry Prison to attend his father’s funeral
