Renowned Irish Times journalist Mr John Waters has been in Donegal to visit the site of the proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant and its associated discharge pipe in the town land of Carnagarve.
The proposed development is would be located midway between Moville and Greencastle.
Mr Waters was provided with details of the sewage plant and pipe by members of the Campaign for a Clean Estuary Group and local residents.
The group says that Mr Waters was highly impressed with the beauty of the area and its surroundings and stated that he will make a return journey at some point in the future and will also study in detail the information provided.
The Campaign for a Clean Estuary Group opposes council plans to pump treated sewage into Lough Foyle.
Earlier this month, The European Commission launched an investigation into the Council’s handling of the dispute, which has been running since the 1980s.
