Funeral of Julia O’Donnell takes place in Kincasslagh

Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Julia O’Donnell in Kincasslagh today. The 94 year old mother of country stars Daniel O’Donnell and Margo died in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Funeral mass at St Mary’s Church was concelebrated by 11 priests, led by Fr Brian Logue, a local priest based in Scotland. Before her death, Mrs O’Donnell asked that he be the chief celebrant at her funeral, as he was at her husband Francie’s funeral almost 50 years ago.
