The Roads Service in Derry is to increase enforcement of double yellow lines in the Rosemount area of the city in a bid to address serious bottlenecks in the area.
The problem is most serious around Park Avenue and its junctions with Academy Road and Northland Avenue. Last year, a proposal to implement a one way system was rejected by local residents, and now the deployment of more traffic wardens is being proposed, along with bollards and other measures to cut down on illegal parking.
Cllr Micky Cooper says bottlenecks have become a serious issue, and illegal parking is the main cause…………
