Protestant groups urged to apply for funding

The Gateway to Protestant Participation project was prompted by the belief that while catholic and nationalist groups have been quick to avail of opportunities such as the International Fund for Ireland and the EU Peace programme, traditionally, protestant groups have not done so.
Willie Lamrock, from the YMCA in Derry, the lead partner in the steering group, says a study of the previous Peace programmes showed serious underrepresentation from protestant groups.
Among the other groups involved are Derry Raphoe Action and Tyrone, Derry and Donegal Action.
