Donegal politicians assessing Budget 2010

The first crucial votes to pass Budget Twenty-Ten passed in the Dáil last night.
These reduced the price of drink and hiked up petrol and diesel.
Tanaiste Mary Coughlan says the reversing of last year’s half a percent VAT increase and the reduction in excise duties on alcohol will prove very important in Donegal and other border counties.
She says the aim of the provisions is to make it less attractive for people to cross the border to shop.
Donegal Fine Gael Deputy Joe Mc Hugh is describing the budget in general as a disaster, and he’s calling on Dr James McDaid to follow through on his word and vote against the government on the budget at any given oppurtunity.
