Council says progress is being made in returing water supplies to normality

While many areas in the north of the county have serious disruption to their water supply the council says that some progress is being made.
Demand for water remains above normal due substantially to taps being left running and also consistent incidents of leakage and bursts.
Some areas particularly Lifford and Alt continue to have supply closed off overnight to allow reservoirs build up. Supply may take some hours to reach all areas after being turned on again.
The council says the practice has ensured that affected areas have water during the day.
