It’s been confirmed that there was a minor earthquake in Donegal last night, measuring 1.6 on the Richter Scale.
Last night, Highland Radio received a number of calls from Fanad and Inishowen claiming that people had heard what appeared to be a loud thunderclap followed by a tremor at around half past seven.
According to Thomas Blake of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, the epicentre of the event was in Bridgend.
