Mc Brearty wants more discretion over how seminar money is spent

Donegal Councillor Frank McBrearty is calling on the local authority to allow councillors use money allocated for attending seminars to fund local sporting organisations instead.
Councillors are entitled to 4,700 euro per year to cover the cost of attending the various seminars that are held around country, but Councillor McBrearty wants to be able to use the money at his discretion.
Each councillor is given a development fund of 6,300 per annum which they can distribute between local community and sporting projects.
Councillor McBrearty says the seminar money would be better spent in that direction….
