The SDLP’s Mark Durkan is to be replaced at Stormont by his political advisor Pól Callaghan.
On Tuesday the leader on Derry City Council, Helen Quigley pulled out of the race while Mark H Durkan, nephew of the MP, yesterday stood aside leaving the way clear for Mr Callagher.
Pol Callaghan, originally from Letterkenny, says his background gives him an insight in the benefits of Donegal and Derry working together:
