Fishing communities in Donegal struggling because of quota restrictions

Junior Fisheries Minister Sean Connick says he will be attempting to secure the best deal possible at quota talks in Brussels later this month.
He was responding to Deputy Joe Mc Hugh, who said fishing communities in Donegal and elsewhere are struggling because of quota restrictions which have not been equally applied. He said the Irish Whitefish Fleet does not have the capacity to decimate stocks, but is being treated as if it had.
Deputy Joe Mc Hugh told the Dail the industry agreed to cooperate with the commission in return for more input on conservation and quotas.
However, he says, that hasn’t happened:
