The North’s new Health Minister has pledged to reassess his predecessor’s decision to shelve the planned North West Radiotherapy Unit at Altnagelvin, but has stopped short of giving a commitment that it will go ahead.
Speaking during a visit to the hospital last night, Edwin Poots said he will look at the numbers and announce a decision within two weeks.
Western Trust Chairman Gerard Guckian said he is confident that the unit will go ahead, and yesterday’s discussions were an important element in that process….
