Letterkennys IDA office to close

The government has confirmed that the IDA’s Letterkenny office is to close.
The issue was raised in the Dail last night; with Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue saying the Regional Manager based in Letterkenny has been promoted to a national position, with no word of a replacement.
He urged the government not to allow the Letterkenny office to be scaled down………..

However, Junior MInister Ciaran Cannon confirmed that the IDA’s North West operations are to be centralised in Sligo.
He told Deputy Mc Conaloghue that while Letterkenny is an important area for the IDA, it will no longer have it’s own office.
Minister Cannon stressed this is a decision for the agency rather than the government……….
