Former Mayor tries to save ‘Farmers’ Market’ in Donegal Town

A former Mayor of Donegal is to raise an emergency motion at Mondays Donegal County Council meeting, which she hopes will save the Donegal Food and Craft Market.
The market, which is held in Donegal Town, is expected to be served a closure order in the coming days.
The move is off the back of a complaint from a local business that casual trading is taking place in Donegal Town, contrary to the provisions of the Casual Trading Act 1995.
The enforcement is an executive function of the Council.
Cllr Cora Harvey says she hopes the Donegal Food and Craft Market can be saved.
