Altnagelvin fails to meet A&E targets as 30 people a day wait over four hours

Thousands of people are having to endure lengthy waiting times for treatment at Altnagelvin Hospital’s A&E Department according to new figures published in Stormont.
The figures reveal that in the three months between April and June, Altnagelvin failed to meet targets to treat, admit or discharge patients within a four hour time frame.
According to the Department of Health, almost 3,000 peoples – nearly 30 every day – had to wait more than four hours to be seen.
On today’s Shaun Doherty Show, one of them outlined her experience.
Patricia was referred to A&E for a head x-ray by her GP, but left after seven hours without seeing a doctor…………..
