Donegal Versus Kildare – the closing stages

Thousands travelled to Dublin for the All-Ireland Quarter-final between Donegal and Kildare to witness what would prove to be an exhilarating match
A tense and low scoring first half had Donegal trailing 5 points to 3 at the break. Kildare extended that lead to three points in the second half before a fight back from Donegal, including a goal from veteran Christy Toye, whch saw the game level after seventy minutes: Donegal 1-7 Kildare 0-10.
Kildare took their chances in the first period of extra times to leave it 1-7 to 0-13, with many fans probably prepared to accept a draw, what followed will go down as one of the great finishes to a game featuring Donegal.
