The Town Councils in Letterkenny and Buncrana are to receive extra allocations for improvements to footpaths.
The money from the Smart Travel Initiative is additional to the € 302,000 announced last month for Donegal, and is coming from savings made on projects elsewhere.
Both town councils will each receive an extra €50,000.
