Local politicians hit out at roads decision

North-West MEP Pat The Cope Gallagher has hit out at the Minister for Transport over his decision to shelve a number of road projects in Donegal.
It’s emerged today that that several National and Secondary Road projects will not go ahead because of a lack of funds.
Proposed work on the N56 between Dungloe and Glenties and Mountcharles and Inver will not now go ahead while improvements to the N14 Lifford to Letterkenny and Lifford to Stranorlar are shelved.
Pat the Cope Gallagher says it’s a decision that should not have been made by one minister……


Meanwhile, Donegal North-East Deputy, Padriag McLochlain has called Minister Varadkars decision disastrous.
Deputy McLochlain says improvements to the N14 Lifford to Letterkenny and Lifford to Stranorlar are an essential part of the A5 project…………
