Lifford based Cllr Gerry Crawford says following the collapse of plans for a one way system in the town, plans can now be drawn up for long awaited environmental improvement works.
The works and the one way system had become bundled together because issues such as car parking and signage were linked in with how traffic would be flowing in the town.
Cllr Crawford proposed that the one-way system be adopted, and continues to maintain that the majority of people favoured the system. However, he says he accepts the democratic will of the council:
