Zed Candy not commenting on local fears for Oatfield’s future

The owners of of the Oatfield Confectionary plant in Letterkenny are refusing to comment on growing fears for the future of the facility.
The remaining 15 workers at the plant are expressing concern, saying that key ingredients are now being outsourced and key machinery has been moved from the factory.
Mayor Cllr Gerry Mc Monagle is calling on Zed Candy to clarify their plans for the future of the plant.
However, when the company was contacted by Highland Radio News today, a spokesperson said they do not comment on speculation and rumours, and if they have any comment to make in the future, the first people they speak to will be their staff.
