A Donegal North East Deputy says the Health Minister and the HSE are making a grave mistake by not carrying out a study of the impact budget cuts are having on hospital services.
Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue says while there’s rightly been lots of talk about the future of Lifford Hospital since the HSE West Service Plan was published, he is gravely concerned about the Letterkenny General Hospital budget.
Last year, he says, Letterkenny General Hospital spent approximately €105 million, and that included an €8 million overspend. This year’s budget is €92.7 million for 2012, a reduction of over €12 million on last year.
This, Deputy Mc Conalogue says, means services will be severely cut without any proper analysis or consideration………
