A prisoner who absconded from prison yesterday has been apprehended by police in Derry.
26 year old Martin McDermott went missing from Loughan House prison in Cavan.
He was arrested this morning in the Foyle area.
The Department of Justice is seeking a full report into how the prisoner may have escaped.
