Seven workers from Sioen Ireland to on three day week

It’s emerged that 17 workers at Sioen Ireland are to go on a three day week from next week.
The Gweedore based company produce protective clothing and equipment.
Donegal South West Deputy Pearse Doherty says there is never a good time to hear this sort of news, particularly at a time when many are already struggling with the burden of new taxes and cuts.
He says when short time was introduced on a previous occasion, management at Sioen was able to trade out of the difficulties and return staff to full time hours.
