Young people to “speak out” on social issues in Ballybofey

Over 150 transition year students and other young people from Donegal and Cavan will offer their perspective on addressing social issues at a special “Speak Out” function in Ballybofey today.
The event at the Balor Arts Centre is one of 11 across the country organised by the Young Social Innovators programme.
It invites teenagers to identify issues of concern to them and how they propose to tackle them. The issues discussed in the programme include mental health, community facilities for the youth and the elderly, intergenerational initiatives, inclusion, obesity, drugs misuse and the environment.
