A Donegal Councillor has hit out at the Irish Wind Energy Association after a spokesperson for the association said Donegal has an obgligation to facilitate windfarm developments as part of Ireland’s commitment to the Kyoto agreement.
Cllr Seamus O’Domhnaill also hit out at the IWEA for going straight to the media with cocerns regarding a proposed mandatory one kilometre seperation between turbines and dwellings in the draft of the new County Development Plan.
Cllr O’Domhnaill says if the association has points to raise, it should raise them with members.
He also stressed with around half the country’s wind turbines already in the county, the people of Donegal county will accept no lectures on this issue………..
