Garda Commissioner confirms garda station closures will impact some communities

The Garda Commissioner has admitted that the closure of garda stations will impact communities.
But Martin Callinan says that he and his colleagues are working to minimise the impact of station closures.
Three Donegal stations, Culdaff, Doochary and Dunkineely have already been earmarked for closure, with fears there may be more to come.
At a briefing on community policing in Dublin today – the Commissioner says that an Garda Siochána will continue to need the support of locals to keep communities safe.
But Commissioner Callinan said that some communities will feel the absence of a garda station….
