Donegal Cancer groups at odds again

The Co-operating for Cancer Care Northwest has again moved to distance itself from Donegal Action for Cancer Care this time over media coverage of the Relay for Life event.
Last week concerns were expressed by the head of DACC, Betty Holmes over where the money would be spent.
At the time Ms Holmes stated that DACC would like to discuss what cancer services within Donegal the  Relay for Life money will be spent on or invested in claiming she couldn’t get confirmation.
Irish Cancer Society later stated that at least €200,000 of the 350,000 euro raised in Donegal would be spent in the county.
CCC Northwest has taken issue with media coverage which stated that “Donegal Cancer groups” were asking where the money was going.
Following contact from members of the public the group released a statement praising the Irish Cancer Society adding it was always clear that the money was being raised for a national charity.
It said that it wished  to clarify it has absolutely no connection with DACC or Betty Holmes.
