There has been a major breakthrough in learning the movements of Donegal’s Basking Shark population.
Up until now it had only been speculated as to where the animals travelled for food when not in the waters around Donegal mostly during the summer.
But new research from the Irish Basking Shark Project has identified a shark 3,000 miles away near Senegal and a second close to the Canary Islands.
