Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for Munster, Leinster and parts of Ulster.
Scattered snow showers will hit these areas this evening, overnight and on Monday and will result in between 3 and 8 centimetres of snow.
Motorists are being advised to drive with extreme care as severe frost and icy conditions will effect all parts.
 
Tonight’s forecast
It will be very cold this evening and tonight with sharp to severe frost developing. Minimum temperatures ranging from zero on the coast to -4 degrees inland. Northeast winds will remain strong in coastal areas but will decrease moderate inland. Some snow showers are likely overnight with any snow expected to lie.
Tomorrow will be a very cold day. Most areas will be mostly dry with bright spells but there will be some scattered snow showers. Max temperatures from 1 to 3 degrees with fresh locally strong and gusty northeast winds.
