Outpatient services to improve at LGH as old Emergency Department is renovated

The HSE has announced a major refurbishment of ther old A and E unit at Letterkenny General Hospital.
1.24 million has been approved to develop the former Emergency Department, Medical 1 and Medical 2 areas, all of which have moved to the new bloc.
The refurbishment will provide an additional Out Patient Treatment Area and space for the relocation of Pharmacy services.
The project has gone to tender, and the HSE hopes a contractor will be appointed by early August, with a construction period likely to be four to six months.
Local Councillor Ciaran Brogan is a representative on the HSE West Regional Forum – He’s welcoming the move, and says it will pave the way for the reintroduction of rheumotology services at Letterkenny General……….
