Abortion Bill debate continues in the Seanad

The Seanad is continuing to discuss amendments to the abortion Bill.
Debate is moving slowly with only a handful of the 86 amendments dealt with so far.
It has been a fraught debate with further graphic descriptions of abortion procedures from some members as they debated proposals to demand pain-free terminations.
Labour Senator Marie Maloney made an emotional appeal to her colleagues to tone down their language.
“I absolutely think the carry on in here is disgraceful; A Cathaoirleach – I would ask you through he Chair to use your good offices and stop this kind of talk in here, there is no need for it” she said.
“Every single person in in this chamber knows what we’re talking about” she added.
