Cash-in-transit van robbed on Dublin’s northside

Two men are on the run after holding up a cash-in-transit van in North Dublin this morning.
They made off with a cash box after threatening security staff with a fake gun outside the Clare Hall Shopping Centre on the Malahide Road just after 10am.
The made their escape in a Toyota Yaris which was abandoned in Coolock.
It is now being forensically examined.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor Micheál McDonncha is appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
“We’re still hearing of robberies and violent crime throughout the city and occasionally in our own area such as this – so it is a cause of major concern; and whatever assistance people can give gardai should certainly be given” he said.
