Derry women found in hijacked car crashed in Donegal released on bail

Two women charged in connection with a hijacking of a car in Derry that later crashed in Donegal were released on bail today at Derry Crown Court.

Finnvola Gallagher and Cheryl Gardiner both aged 20 and both of no fixed abode were charged with aggravated vehicle taking on July 5.

At today’s hearing it was said that police were no longer objecting to bail as a suitable address for both women had been found.

Deputy District Judge Paul Conway released both young women on their own bail of £250, on condition they reside at an address in Lisburn, they observe a curfew from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. and that they report to police three tiems a week.

Both women will also be electronically tagged and are not permitted to enter Derry except to appear in court.
They will appear again on July 25.
