Inquest into the presumed death of Mary Boyle refused

A coroner has refused to hold an inquest into the presumed death of Mary Boyle, who went missing in 1977 at the age of six.
The request for the inquest came from her twin sister Anne Doherty, who had hoped an inquest would focus attention on the case and prompt a renewed garda investigation into Mary’s disappearance near her grandparents’ home in Cashelard near Ballyshannon.
Speaking on today’s Shaun Doherty Show, Anne Doherty said her belief remains that Mary is dead and her body is buried close to where she went missing 36 years ago.
The latest search in that area revealed nothing, but concerns were raised when machinery was used, and Anne Doherty fears evidence may have been lost as a result…………..
