Two Golden Eagle chicks have fledged in Donegal in recent weeks. There were three territorial pairs in Donegal this year with a further 5 territories occupied by single birds.
Golden Eagle Trust Project Officer Lorcan O’Toole is warning that the Golden Eagle population in the county remains at a vulnerable level, reflecting what he termed wider problems facing wildlife and farming in the Donegal Mountains.
However, after last year’s breeding attempts failed, Mr O’Toole says this year’s success is encouraging……….
