32 Rose of Tralee contestants attend Fleadh events in Derry

Roses Derry
There was a unique cultural link up between Derry and Kerry following a visit to the city by the 32 Rose of Tralee contestants.
The North’s Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, says the people of Derry are indebted to the organisers of the festival for bringing the roses to the UK City of Culture.
The Roses spent 24 hours in Derry where they joined in with the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann celebrations, and are in Sligo today en route to Tralee.
Martin McGuinness says the recent exodus of Irish people to other shores means that the Rose of Tralee has a key role in helping emigrants to maintain their connection to home………….
