Jobs boost for west/northwest at Knock Airport and Sainsburys in Derry

sainsThere was good news on the jobs front for the west and northwest today.
80 new jobs are expected to be created at Knock Airport after Ryanair announced three new routes – to Eindhoven, Glasgow Prestwick and Kaunas.
While more than 60 jobs are being created in Derry by Sainsbury’s.
They’ll be rolled out from April next year along with increased frequencies on its London route.
The Tourism Minister Michael Ring and Tourism Ireland have welcomed the announcement which is expected to deliver an additional 80 thousand passengers a year.
The supermarket is hiring 64 people on permanent and temporary contracts as part of a multi-million pound upgrade to its Strand Road store.
It anticipates that 50 of these jobs will be permanent.
