McHugh & Funston extend their stay at Harps

finnharps crestKevin McHugh and Michael Funston have signed on the dotted line as new Harps boss Ollie Horgan starts the hard work of putting together his squad ahead of the 2014 season which gets underway next March.
It will be McHugh’s 13th season in Harps colours and he will be looking to add to the 172 goals that he has already scored in his 364 games for the club.  The striker, who turns 34 years old in January, made his debut in a 2-0 League Cup victory away to Fanad United on 16th August 1998 coming on as a second half substitute and scored the second goal.
For 28 year old Funston, it will be his 10th season at Harps since making his debut in a 2-0 home victory against Dundalk towards the end of May 2004.  Since then, the hard working midfield has played 235 games for the club and has scored 22 goals.
Both players are hugely experienced and are two of only 18 players who have played 200 or more games for the club.
